Hi my name is Giselle Jemal and I am a second- year student at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. At FIT, I study Advertising and Marketing Communications (AMC) where I plan to graduate with my Associates Degree in May, 2023.After graduation, I plan on continuing my studies in AMC to graduate with my Bachelor's Degree in May 2025.
During the spring of 2021, I interned for Fortune Inspired, a fashion and lifestyle blog written by micro influencer Fortune Dushey. I learned many skills such as how to conduct proper research, reach out to brands, and create blog and social media posts. This experience helped me to discover that I would love to work in the fashion journalism field .
When I’m not in school, I like to spend my spare time volunteering for Sephardic Bikur Holim (SBH), a community organization that provides for those in need. My volunteer work includes planning event fundraisers, cooking, packing, and delivering food to those in need, and raising money. With SBH, I participated in the Disney Princess Marathon along with 500 other community members to help raise over a million dollars for their organization.
I also enjoy listening to music, watching movies, reading books, dancing, and hanging out with my mom. During the summertime I love to spend my time on the beach either relaxing or surfing.
Before college, I attended Magen David Yeshiva Elementary School and High School. I studied both secular and Hebrew subjects. I can read, write, understand, and speak both Hebrew and English.
